Fall is here which means delicious seasonal beers! Now there are a lot of pumpkin beers out there nowadays, but only a few of them are really unique. Here at the Greene Grape we have two of the best pumpkin beers I’ve ever tasted.
First up we have Wolaver’s Will Stevens’ Pumpkin Ale from Otter Creek Brewing in Middlbury, Vermont. All of Wolaver’s beers are Certified Organic and the pumpkins used in the brewing are grown by a local farmer Will Stevens.
Next on deck is Lakefront Brewery’s Pumpkin Lager which comes from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Not only was Lakefront’s Pumpkin Lager one of the first pumpkin beers produced since prohibition, but it is also the only pumpkin lager in the world! Any other pumpkin beer you get will most likely be an ale. For more interesting facts about pumpkin beer and to check out more of Lakefront’s unique craft beers click here.
Also new in the Greene Grape beer department we have some superb new specialty beers. Leelanau’s Good Harbor Golden is an American take on a Bière de Garde, a “keeping beer” which is a French farmhouse style ale. Put a bottle in your wine rack and save for your next dinner party. Great to share with a few friends and a perfect compliment to a number of cheeses from our extensive cheese counter.
And lastly I am very excited to have in stock a case of Capt. Lawrence’s Xtra Gold, an American take on a Belgian Trippel. Capt. Lawrence is a brewer based in Westchester who currently only bottles in very small batches because he is trying to keep his business a manageable size without sacrificing quality. This beer is very limited edition so come on in and get it before it’s gone!
