Are you looking for a way to spend some of that sweet Christmas dough from your Aunt? You know you should pay your bills with it, but that’s not what Christmas money is for. We suggest picking up one of Mama O’s Premium Kimchi Kits, now you can make yourself a big ol’ jar of kimchi for putting on just about anything. The kit includes everything you need, minus the vegetables, to start fermenting your own Mama O’s. Our good friend and founder of Mama O’s Kheedim has made a handy dandy instructional video to walk you through the steps for using your new kimchi kit!
On Christmas eve, the wine store will be open from 10am – 7pm and Provisions and the Annex from 8 am – 6pm.
All stores will be closed on Christmas Day.
The wine store and The Annex will resume regular hours on December 26. Provisions will be closed on December 26 and will reopen with regular hours on December 27.
“Creamy, toasty and rich; dry, balanced and graceful with lingering flavors,” the Scharffenberger Excellence Brut NV “showed restrained power and finesse.” Under $20, no wonder it was ‘Best Value’ in the NY Times column on American sparkling wines. But ‘Best of Tasting,’ too? We had to try it.
The Scharffenberger Excellence Brut NV proved harder to find than a Tickle Me Elmo doll* (back in the day). After multiple calls to the winery, the distributor, the winery, the distributor, etc. with everyone saying it was sold out, we finally made it through to an elf in the back of the workshop who seemed to believe she could send us 13 cases of it tomorrow. We’ll see.
To reserve yours (only available for sale if it magically appears), email mrobertson at our domain name dot com (greenegrape.com) or call us at (718) 797-9463. If we receive it, it will be a Christmas miracle!
UPDATE: Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. 13 cases arrived just minutes ago. And a case sold less than a minute after arrival. If you want the wine, call ASAP!
*This year’s equivalent is Lego Minecraft. If anyone knows the inside scoop on how to get one, give us a shout.
Nothing is more hotly-anticipated in our household than the annual arrival of Purity egg nog. The kids drink it after school and for dessert and are always surprised when the remains of the half-gallon are drained overnight by elves. I guess the elves heard that the egg nog makes a great adult dessert spiked with a shot of rum. Savvy elves.
Next Thursday we’ll have Earth Balance Soy Nog! Get your ‘nog on!
